Tony Bobby Track 5k

We host our very own annual Tony Bobby memorial race at the Bebington Oval in memory of Tony who was one of our founding members and a great coach.

It provides an opportunity for our faster runners to race, and the others enjoy a more gentle pace.

The event is club sponsored and there is no additional charge. We run 12.5 laps, the equivalent of a 5k and usually meet for a meal afterwards.

2024 Race Report and Results

Many thanks to all tonight who turned out for the club to run, help then eat.  It stayed dry with a bit of wind but 12 runners completed the 12 and a third laps of the Oval.

Guided by the helpers Les Hall, Tony McDevit, Marg Delaney, Rachel Leah, James Downey,Joe Johnson and Pauline Roberts,  Cheering the tail runner home Maria and Gary, many thanks for the programme.

The race started after the photo and off went Barry the gazelle, I was hoping Andrii was going to push him and both achieve super times. All had good times and new names will appear on the trophies.

Overall Results

Results from the track race initially ran over 10k, but in 2002 shortened to 5k.
