Club Handicap

A Birkenhead AC tradition is our summer and winter handicap events.

Using courses that are tried and tested, we look to race over 5km with each member starting at a different time, depending on their best 5km time for that year. The idea of the event is to try to get all members finishing as close together as possible, with the slower times starting first. The events are well attended and prizes are awarded to the first finishers and gender positions.

The winter event takes places just after Christmas and the Summer event towards the end of June. Dates for these are confirmed at the clubs AGM in May.

Many thanks to everyone for a fab summer Handicap on the Wirral coast, ideal conditions little wind and cool.

Many thanks to Les Hall and Pauline Roberts, sorry about delay in getting to start had a couple stuck in traffic in Birkenhead.

Attached are the results and you can tell the shorter course we use, well done to Laura Moran the 1st runner to finish and to Lana Wright fastest lady. Well done to Helen Richards on doing the club event.
